Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2005 PowerPoint Plug-In fix

According to IT, all links for currently scheduled calls should be fine after the migration to LM2007. While content loaded into the meetings should be fine, there is a process for PowerPoint decks that used the LM2005 plug-in to create slides.

Instruction for how to handle PowerPoint decks that used the Live Meeting 2005 Plug-In:

QUESTION:
When I try to upload my PowerPoint slide set, which contains Poll, Web, or other slides created using the Live Meeting Add-in for PowerPoint, I get the message:

"Uploading PowerPoint files that were created using the Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2005 Add-in for PowerPoint is not supported with this version of Live Meeting. Remove the Live Meeting resource slides from the file, and then try again to upload it."

I need those special slides (Poll, Web, etc.) in my presentation and can't remove them. What should I do?

ANSWER:
The workaround for this issue is:
  1. Open the slide set in PowerPoint.
  2. From the PowerPoint menu bar, select Add-ins, then Live Meeting Presentation, then Export.
  3. In the Export pop-up, select .LMP for "Save as type".
  4. Log in to your Conference Center Live Meeting Manager, go to Manage Meetings and click the meeting in the list to get to the Meeting Details page for your meeting.
  5. On the right-hand side of the Meeting Details page, select Upload Files.
  6. Browse to find the .LMP file you just saved, then click Upload.
  7. Your slide set will upload and your special slides (Poll, Web, etc) will be active and functional in your meeting.
