Verizon Business Introduces IP Audio Conferencing Service
Verizon Business has introduced a new access method - IP Meet Me - that allows an enterprise to exploit its IP network investment for transport to Verizon Business' Voice over IP (VoIP) audio conference bridges. Conferencing customers within an enterprise with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) endpoints may host Instant Meeting VoIP audio conference calls.
Verizon Business can support both IP and Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN)-originated calls on the same Verizon Business VoIP bridge. Verizon Business provides the IP-enabled audio conferencing bridges and PSTN-to-VoIP gateways so that users within an enterprise may have "hybrid" calls. Hybrid-call support provides enterprise users flexibility and the assurance that their meeting participants can join a conference call no matter their endpoint.
Verizon Business provides engineering and consulting services to ensure quality IP Audio Conferencing. Verizon Business will consult with an enterprise regarding their network topology, bandwidth utilization, SIP proxy configuration, firewall configuration, codec selection, and VoIP quality for audio conference calls. Verizon Business will also discuss issues and considerations such as level balancing, duplex settings, transmission loss, packet loss, echo, delay, and packet misorder.
Verizon Business' new IP Audio Conferencing service features include the following:
- Verizon Business-provided engineering and consulting services to ensure quality IP Audio Conferencing
- IP-enabled audio conference bridges and PSTN-to-VoIP gateways
- Hybrid native IP and PSTN call leg support
- Interconnectivity through Verizon Business Private IP (PIP) network service for direct connectivity to Verizon Business VoIP bridges
